About Lios
What is Lios?
Lios is an intelligence layer for candidates chasing competitive, structured openings. It finds the roles worth your time, helps you judge them, and manages the whole application window in one place. Less noise, better decisions, less of your life spent on spreadsheets and dead links.
What does “Lios” mean?
Lios comes from Helios, the Greek god of the sun: the one who saw everything, and who revealed what was hidden. That is the job. Light on a process that is usually opaque.
Who is Lios for?
Students, graduates and candidates going after competitive structured entry routes: graduate schemes, internships, spring weeks, apprenticeships, school-leaver routes and postgraduate intakes. Lios is not a general job board and does not try to be.
Who is behind Lios?
Lios is built by Lios Labs Ltd, a UK company. It started with someone who understood the points of friction in this market first-hand, and who wanted a tool that acted in the candidate’s interest rather than the employer’s. Everything since has followed from that.
Is Lios a recruiter? Do you apply on my behalf?
No. We are not a recruiter, and we never submit anything for you. You apply through the firm’s own process. Our job is to make that process sharper.
Is Lios affiliated with the firms it lists?
Lios is an independent platform with no official partnerships with the firms on the site. Our only official partners are you. Firm names and logos appear purely to identify the opportunity you are looking at.
Is Lios free?
Yes. Completely free right now. If that ever changes, we will tell you clearly and in advance.
How does Lios make money?
Right now, we don’t. That is a deliberate choice: we would rather build the product, and the community it serves, before we think about revenue. What we can tell you is what we will never do. No firm can buy its way up your feed, buy a tier, or buy a fit score. Here, you are the customer, not the employer. If we introduce paid services in future, they will be additive and clearly signposted, and anything commercially supported will be labelled as such and kept separate from your curated feed.

Where do the openings come from?
From firms’ own first-party careers sources, monitored continuously, so what you see reflects what is actually live.
How often is the feed updated?
We check every day. If something has closed, moved or changed, we want it corrected fast, and you can tell us whenever you spot something wrong.
What is the Lios List?
The Lios List is a curated set of firms that meet our editorial standard. Selection reflects an internal assessment of a firm’s standing within its sector, including selectivity and the strength of the platform a role provides. We cannot disclose which firms were considered and not selected, or the specific criteria behind our in-house method. What do Diamond, Platinum, Gold and Silver mean?
They are our tiering of firm calibre within a sector, reflecting things like selectivity, standing, and the strength of the platform a role gives you. It is guided by our own in-house method, which we do not publish, and it is our editorial view rather than a statement of fact about any firm. It is not the oracle of truth. Bring your own judgement and your own context.
Are any listings sponsored or promoted?
Nothing in your Lios feed is there because someone paid for it. Ranking, tiering and fit scores cannot be bought. If we ever introduce commercially supported opportunities, they would be clearly labelled and kept separate from your curated feed, so you always know exactly what you are looking at.
Why does Lios show fewer jobs than other sites?
On purpose. Ten relevant openings beat ten thousand irrelevant ones. If you want volume, the big boards have it. We are trying to be right, not big.
A firm or role I expected isn’t here. Why?
Either it is not currently open, or that firm is not yet on the Lios List. We expand coverage continuously, and if something is missing we would genuinely like to know: contact@lios.uk.
Will Lios tell me when things open and close?
Yes. Lios surfaces what is newly open and keeps your tracked roles and their dates in one place, so the window does not pass you by while you are busy elsewhere.

The tools
What is the fit score?
A measure of how well an opening matches your profile, preferences and the way you work, guided by our own in-house method, which we do not publish. Treat it as a way to prioritise, not a prediction of whether you will get the offer, and never as a judgement of you as a candidate. It is not the oracle of truth. Your own judgement and context always come first.
Are the profiling tests real, or a personality quiz?
They are built on established frameworks used in genuine career and psychological research, and scored by fixed logic rather than AI guesswork, so the same answers always produce the same result. They are designed for self-insight and for prioritising what to chase. They are not a clinical or diagnostic assessment, and they are not the oracle of truth either.
Do I have to do the assessments?
No. They are optional, you can do one and skip the rest, and you can retake any of them later. They simply sharpen what Lios shows you.
Does the AI write my applications for me?
It works from your material, not invented claims, and what it produces is a draft for you to own and edit. Your own judgement stays in charge: it is entirely your call how much of the tooling you use, and none of it is required. Never send anything you could not defend in an interview. Used well it sharpens your own evidence. Used lazily it produces something generic, which screeners spot.
What are the games for?
They are inspired by real assessment games and proven cognitive tests, so you can practise the kinds of thinking competitive processes actually put you through, and learn something about how you think. They are practice, not a shortcut.
Can Lios give me career, legal or financial advice?
Lios gives you information, tools and our own view so you can decide well. It is not regulated advice. For legal, financial, immigration or visa questions in particular, speak to a qualified professional.
Does Lios guarantee I will get a role?
No, and be wary of anything that claims otherwise. We do our utmost to add real value, and we understand that helping you land a role you actually want is the greatest value we could possibly add. We work continuously to build a product that does exactly that. But some things sit entirely outside our control, and the decision is always the firm’s. So we can never guarantee an offer, and we will never pretend we can.

Do you sell my data?

Can employers see my profile, my saved roles or my tracker?
No. Your pipeline is yours, and it is not shared with firms.
What data do you collect?
What you tell us during onboarding, what you save and track in the app, and basic usage data that helps us improve Lios. Our Privacy Notice sets it out in full.
Will employers see my CV?
No. Nothing you upload is shared with firms. Your CV is there to power the tools you choose to run, nothing else.
Do you use my data to train AI?
Certain aspects of how the product is used may be used to enhance future user experience and product quality. We do not sell your data, and nothing you upload is shared with firms. Our Privacy Notice is the definitive statement on how your data is handled.
How do I delete my account and my data?
You can delete your account at any time from My Profile, or email contact@lios.uk and we will action it for you. Your rights over your data are set out in the Privacy Notice.

Using Lios
Do I need an account?
Yes. Lios is built around your profile, your saved roles and your tracker, so it needs somewhere to keep them.
Can I use Lios on my phone?
You can, and it works. That said, Lios is a working instrument with a lot on screen: the dashboard, comparisons, the tracker and the Agent tools are all noticeably better on a laptop or a larger display. Phone for checking in, desktop for doing the work.
Do I need to be at a certain university, or have particular grades?
No. Lios does not filter you by institution, and we cover apprenticeships and school-leaver routes as well as graduate programmes. Individual firms set their own criteria, and that decision always sits with them.
Is Lios only for the UK?
Our coverage is strongest in the UK, and the feed includes international openings from the firms we track. Anyone is welcome to use Lios, and coverage keeps expanding.
What is the difference between saving a role and tracking it?
Saving is a shortlist: something you want to come back to. Tracking is active: it moves through stages as you apply, interview and hear back, and it is what powers your dashboard.

Getting help
Something is wrong with a listing, or I have a problem.
Email contact@lios.uk and we will look at it. We would far rather hear about a broken or out-of-date listing than have you waste an application on it.
How do I give feedback or suggest something?
There is a feedback form in My Profile. We read everything, and a good deal of what is in Lios exists because someone asked for it.
